Well, perhaps we can work on this. I have lots of tools, and pulleys, though I don't have a good block and tackle. I'll get one of those before we get started.

Basically I was going to do a tree platform with some posts to aid in support. I have two trees that are to serve as the main anchor and then another two trees to stretch out to. Distance is about 20', thinking about 10'x20' structure shaped somewhat like a trapezoid. One thing I need is some design help. I would have a tendency to build it too overly strong, but I guess that wouldn't be a problem considering I could use the posts to help to bear most of the weight. I haven't figured out how much it would weigh all together, but after the platform I could see popping a little structure of about 5oo lbs up there.

I'll take care of materials, just need some hands doing it. First one since I was a kid.

Right now I have been talking with the trees with regards to cleaning out some branches and where best to support. I'll post a pic of the previous tree platform that I had to take down. The previous owner was very much into topping trees (read killing) and opened two of the big boys to disease. You'll get the basic idea though.

I live in Boulder Creek, I'll work on a good date and let you know, I Promise...:). Hopefully I can do this before the rains come, so by early January?
